On The 1st Day Of Christmas: Baking

YAY. It’s finally here. December is finally upon us and Xmas is in 24 days. Are you all as excited as I am? I text my friend at 7:30am this morning all excited, I wore my favourite xmas jumper, put on the Christmas songs and made some Christmas Cakes. Which I’m about too show you below:

So, I have a confession too make; I didn’t make them exactly from scratch. I did buy a packet of dry mixture, just because they turn out awful when they’re from scratch,(for me anyway) and I’ve been poorly. But at least they look and taste good right?
You may have guessed already, but I went too asda and bought the ingredients. Although, the cupcake cases are from sainsburys, from a previous baking day I had!

I preheated the oven too about 100 degrees. Then turned it too 130 when they went in! So I followed all the instructions on the back, added the water, the eggs ect. I also add a tiny drop of cooking oil. Most people would find that horrible, but it makes the cakes all squishy and yummy. Trust me on this! I then poured the mixture evenly into 12 cupcake cases. (I did have some left so I made more after the first batch). I failed too photograph this, but I did add three little white choc chips in each case, just for a little extra. I then put them in the oven for about 15 minutes.

I was so impressed with how they turned out! They were all light and fluffy and golden!
Decorating is my absolute favourite part. I only bake the cakes to decorate them, I’m not even the biggest fan of eating them, I end up distributing them around everyone in my family!
Obviously as it’s the 1st of December, they had to be Christmas themed cakes. I wouldn’t have it any other way!
It was quite a tedious job, but I got there in the end. Although I ran out of tube icing, so had too mix my own. I’m sure you can tell which cakes are iced differently, haha!
But these are the ones that turned out best!
Let me know when you plan to do some Christmas baking and link me too pictures! If anyone has any recipes for actual home made cakes, then let me know as I do want too try!
